Las Vegas-Toronto, with WestJet,
there we go! This is WestJet’s 737-700 that will take
me to Toronto today. She just landed at Las Vegas airport. I’m super excited because this is the first
time I’m flying with WestJet. I follow the company on its social media. I’m a fan of a video they made in 2013. It was a Christmas campaign, beautiful,
beautiful, beautiful. I’ll leave you the link. Take a look. Toronto with WestJet, there we go. – Welcome!
– Thank you! Here it is… This is Plus… I thought I was going to see a business
class seat, but it’s ok… Not much difference… It’s the same thing. There are three rows in the 737 reserved
for the business class. And here’s my seat, 3F, in the window. Just like the economy seat. The difference is that the middle seat
is blocked. And upon arrival there’s a bottle of water
waiting for each passenger. I’ve seen on the WestJet site that they have another
business class, more modern than this one. But since this is my first experience with
them, I’m still excited. As you can see, the safety instructions
announcement is performed by the crew. There’s no safety video, at least on
this aircraft. There’s no screen either… The announcement was made in English
and now in French. It’s amazing how this airport is almost
inside the city. Look at Las Vegas over there… The Strip casino hotels, which I already
showed you in a previous video. I’ll leave the link for you to watch it again. Going towards the runway and of course
I’ll leave you with the sound of the engines of this Boeing 737-700. It’ll be a four-hour-and-ten-minute flight
from Las Vegas to Toronto, Canada. Notice that we are already experiencing some
turbulence shortly after take off. The wing is oscillating, but this is
absolutely normal. The wings were designed for this, so no
one needs to be afraid. Next, we’ll see images of the Mojave Desert, Lake Mead
and the Grand Canyon, which I’ve also shown you before.
While you check the view, I’ll tell you more about WestJet, a Canadian low cost airline
created in 1996 that had, among its founders, David Neeleman,
who today owns the Brazilian airline Azul. WestJet flies to more than 100 destinations in Canada,
the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe, and was voted, in 2019,
Canada’s best airline, according to TripAdvisor, and the second best low cost in North
America by Skytrax. I have the impression that it’s not exactly what’s on
the menu that they’re offering, from what I can hear from the conversation. Let’s see. – I choose a starter and then…
– That’s right. And then you get to choose the chicken
or veggie option. – The chicken.
– Very well. – And to drink, I should not, but I’m gonna
go for a gin and tonic. – Of course you should! – I’m on holidays, you know… – Would you like a little bit of lime in it?
– Yes! – Can I take the menu?
– Yes, thank you. – You’re welcome. Super friendly service, right? I loved it! They put this placemat… I thought it was a paper placemat,
but actually… It’s disposable, but it’s kind of
rubberized. So interesting… – This is new for me… – What I really like… They’re all natural,
but dehydrated. Well, today’s gin and tonic couldn’t be
more Canadian, right? Canada Dry and something new for me. Dehydrated lime. Look at this! Look at this! Cool huh? Toronto, there we go! Cheers! – How’s your gin and tonic?
– Wonderful! – You know, I really like the lime!
– I like the lime too. – This is so good. – Would like to try the lemon next?
I’ll try to serve you another one… – Wonderful!
– Cheers! Let’s take a look at lunch now. Salad, chicken… An interesting detail is that the cutlery is
made of steel. I thought they would be plastic. Remembering that WestJet is a Canadian
low cost airline. So, this isn’t a classic business class, right? Although it’s a transcontinental flight, since we are
crossing the North American continent from side to side… But it’s a low cost airline. For those who always ask me: “Jayme,
you only travel first class? You only travel business class?” No. I’m flying low cost today. This is a cold breaded cauliflower.
It’s very tasty. I liked it. And Lydia, the flight attendant who is taking care of me,
brought me the vegetarian option, which I hadn’t ordered. But she kindly brought it and told me to try
it because it looks good. It’s a couscous. Let’s try it, Lydia. I’m greedy, I eat everything… It’s a pasta, like a sago. It’s tasty, but it’s super spicy. Lydia, I loved it, thanks for your kindness. It’s tasty, but… Guys… If you haven’t been to Canada yet, always ask if the dish is spicy or not before ordering because they use a lot
of pepper. It’s tasty, but it’s too much pepper for me. Dessert is an apple cheesecake. It was so tasty I ordered a second one. And look at the surprise, the second
cheesecake. It’s funny. A maple leaf, which is the symbol of
Canada. Lydia, the flight attendant who’s serving
me, just told me that they offer a Canadian white wine, made in Ontario,
a novelty for me. And I’ll try it now. – There’s riesling, chardonnay and
gewurztraminer. – Near Niagara Falls.
– Yes, sir. – How cool!
– I know! Well, guys, I’m here tasting the Ontario
wine… at the galley… And this is Amanda, who is Brazilian
from Curitiba! – How are you?
– This is amazing! – I came especially, just because he’s
Brazilian. – Nothing like flying WestJet with a
Brazilian on board, right? And Lydia is semi-Brazilian because she
knows Brazil so well, she’s been there several times. She’s been to places in Brazil that I’ve
never been to. – Lydia, you’ve been event to Bonito and
to Lençóis Maranhenses. – Yes, I’ve been travelling a little bit.
Beautiful country. – Thank you.
– Your country is also amazing. – Big countries. – Yes, big countries. And wonderful wine,
thank you so much, Lydia. I loved this white wine. Here it is. By the way, the Ontario region is a super
cool region. If you are visiting Toronto and going to Niagara Falls, be sure to stop by because it’s a region that
produces excellent wines. Mostly ice wine, which is a typical
Canadian wine. The crew is so friendly. They’re spoiling me so much that they
brought me this cheese platter. And I didn’t order it. How nice. I had no previous contact with WestJet,
I didn’t know anyone, I met the girls on board, during the flight. And they are being super nice because
they saw that I’m curious to find out more about the airline, trying everything. It’s very cool, huh? When we see this hospitality from people
who really interact with customers and who have this concern to make a
difference in service. WestJet, congratulations on your crew. You
can be sure that I’ll fly again with you. There was even time for me to take a nap. I woke up and look what’s on my armrest. Let’s open to see what it is. Popcorn, Tic Tac, nuts and a chocolate. A hot towel before landing… – It was amazing! – I’ll see you in Rio! – Sure! – Thank you!
– Bye-bye! We arrived in Toronto and this is the end
of another flight. Give this video a like, subscribe to
